In the background of all of the talk about aspiring party leaders moving to gain their parties nominations, another race is beginning: the aspiring mayors are warming up in their respective lanes. The mayor most people are interested in is probably Tegucigalpa's potential mayor.
If Luis Zelaya becomes the leader of the Liberal Party, his mayor would be Osman Aguilar, a deputy substitute congressman to Yadira Bendana. LIBRE's mayor's would be Carlos Andino Benitez, Jorge Aldana, and Rafael Barahona. It was theorized that the LIBRE party would announce their mayoral candidate yesterday in a press conference but I couldn't find anything stating they had done so. The Anti-Corruption Party's mayor would be: Carlenton Davila. The Christian Democrats would have Marco Suazo. Orginally Waldina Paz was thought to be the candidate if Gabriela Nunez won the internal elections of the Liberal Party, but she said she wouldn't be, opening the possibility for Marcia Villeda to become the mayor of Tegucigalpa. Current mayor Nasry Asfura hasn't been eager to talk about reelection stating that he'd rather focus on working here and now and that he'll worry about aspirations later. That hasn't prevented him from speaking about it at all though, as he was with HRN (The radio people) when he spoke about this. Inscriptions: Before November 11th the National Party and other parties which have plans to participate in the elections will have to have inscribed all of their candidates down. In the National Party there are 2 paths: Blue Unity and the Monarchy. Source. Leave a Reply. |
